Our Story
Based in Ojai, CA, the Van Allen Twins craft a distinctive sound they call 'Blues Grass,' blending elements of blues, bluegrass, country, folk and roots music. Siblings Kellen and Dréa Van Allen infuse their music with rich harmonies and heartfelt storytelling that resonate with audiences far and wide.
Their journey began in 2021 as an acoustic duo, with Dréa on harmonica and vocals and Kellen on vocals, banjo, and guitar. In 2022, upright bassist Johnathon Maxson joined, and by 2024, drummer Greg Weiser completed the lineup, bringing a dynamic energy to their performances.
The band frequently collaborates with guest musicians such as TD Lind on piano and Josh Jenkins on fiddle and mandolin, adding depth to their sound.
Their debut album, Blues Grass, recorded at Love Street Sound and produced by Grammy-nominated Eric Corne, will be released in early 2026, with the first single arriving on June 17th, 2025.
